I really, REALLY tried to enjoy this contemporary M/F romance (what's not to love about a sweet, sexy, generous athlete that fucks like a porn star?!). Unfortunately, while there's no denying the steam level of those sex scenes, both main characters were completely flawless - the kind of flawless that bores a body to tears. I think that by 60% Burton was finally
aiming to give her characters a little more depth than a puddle, but by then it was a case of too little, too late; I'd given up caring and there was no coming back from that.
This book has languished on my "currently reading" shelf for nearly a month as I tried to screw up the motivation to make it through the last 100 pages, but I just can't do it. Reading should be FUN and this one just didn't do it for me.
No more hetero romances for me for a while (at least not until these authors learn to write better leading female characters).
